I wanted to create some nifty tri-fold brochures that would present my small business in a more professional light and give them away to potential clients or put them in places where prospective customers could pick them up. I figured I’d give some out at an upcoming expo in my community at one of the tables. And I could even mail some out when customers called asking about my business.

Many online brochure printers offer short-run printing, meaning you don’t have to order quantities of thousands and thousands of brochures. You can order much smaller quantities. Some places let you order 50, 100, 200, or 500 as the minimum order instead of 10,000 or 15,000.
Online brochure printing is less expensive. Short run printers that offer brochure printing online have made it very cost effective to do so. They use special printing equipment that makes it affordable to print and produce smaller quantities. And they pass those savings on to the consumer.
Full-color options don’t cost much more than single color or black and white jobs. At my local printer, there was a huge difference between the cost of full or four-color print jobs and one color of ink. Online printers typically use different technology, however. Many offer digital color printing as opposed to offset color printing.
I can design my own brochures. Using simple software, I can create a brochure and email it to my online printer without a problem. In less than a week, I could have my brochures in my hand. That kind of fast turnaround would cost an additional premium through my local printer. But this was the norm for the online printer I selected to print my brochures.
